Hi! Plantar fascitis can be extremely difficult to treat. Rest and ice are key, and you may need to hold off running even longer - as difficult as that is! I'll have 5K race training in the Spring and Summer, and hope that you can join us then.

Hi Lynn,
I'm Phoebe McChesney's sister-in-law. I live in Pawlet and would love to join the group. I am an avid runner (have been so since high school) but I have a nasty case of Plantar's Fasicitis. I have not run a step in eleven weeks. I got fitted for orthotics the week before Christmas and am painfully breaking them in. It is very slowly getting better. God, how I want to run, but the pain tells me not to. I have never had an injury sideline me for so long. My favorite races are 5k's. Training for a half marathon would have been something I would have considered before this injury but I need to play it by ear for now. I would be very interested in 5k training and hopefully could join the group in a couple of weeks to a month. Is there room for me? Am I too late?
I was running 28 minute 5k's last summer. Want to get it under 24 minutes. I know that's a stretch. I'm 46 years old. My PR for a 5k is 18:31. But that was 22 years ago.
Let me know what you think

Look for a 5K training program later in the Spring! I'll plan on a group to run the women-only Freihofer 5K in Albany, NY held the first weekend in June. I'll also have a summer running program that's designed to increase your speed, fitness and confidence for any distance. Stay tuned!

It would be great if you did a 5K training group for those of us needing to get going, or improve the pace on a 5k...

There's no word yet from the More folks as to the date of the 2010 race. Last year they were talking about just running a half-marathon, and not including the full marathon.

A good place to search for races is www.runnersworld.com

www.marathonguide.com has an extensive list of marathons, and many of those also hold a half-marathon.

Hello

Do you know when the MORE 2010 marathon will be? I would also like to know if there will be both a half and a full marathon?

If this is not going to be held in the spring, any tips on women's half/full marathons in April or May? I would prefer something for women over 40.

Thanks.
Lynn

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts about what type of training you're interested in. I'll definitely consider everything!

Hey Lynn,

Count me in. I am going through some PT for my ankle with John DiBlasio, but hopefully should be good to go soon. I think I am finally ready to face the challenge of cold weather running. Whatever running groups you're having this winter I'll sign up for. I would love to do MORE, a full marathon, boot camp, anything. Sarah and I were also wondering if you would consider a 5k training group? We both want to break 30 mins but can't get there. Hope to see you soon,
